What is ISO 50001?<\/h2>\n

The ISO 50001 standard is an international certification created by the International Organisation for Standardisation, which provides a method and tools for organisations to initiate their energy performance approach and manage their energy consumption more effectively. Its principle is based on the implementation of <\/strong>an Energy Management System, encouraging continuous improvement and performance measurement.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Energy Management System is therefore the first step in a performance-based approach to reducing your energy consumption, and therefore your greenhouse gas emissions, in a sustainable way.<\/p>\n

ISO 50001 is aimed at all types of players and all sectors of activity: large companies, local authorities, SMEs, distributors, tertiary buildings, industry, etc.<\/p>\n

What are the differences between an energy audit and ISO 50001 certification?<\/h2>\n

Companies with more than 250 employees, a turnover of more than \u20ac50 million and a balance sheet value of more than \u20ac43 million must carry out an energy audit every 4 years (articles L233-1 to L233-3 of the Energy Code).<\/p>\n

Unlike mandatory energy audits, ISO 50001 certification is voluntary.<\/p>\n

If you choose to have your site certified, you are signing up to a continuous improvement approach that also frees you from having to repeat an energy audit every 4 years.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/div>\n<\/section>\n\n\n\n\n
