Science-Based Targets (SBT): the benchmark for defining ambitious GHG reductions<\/h2>\n

Science-Based Targets Initiative (SBTi) was launched in June 2015 by the Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP), the United Nations Global Compact, the World Resource Institute (WRI) and the World Wildlife Fund (WWF). It is now the reference body for determining and deploying ambitious GHG emission reductions.<\/strong><\/p>\n

A reduction target is considered “science-based” if it is in line with what climate science considers necessary to achieve the Paris agreements <\/strong>and if it makes it possible to limit global warming to well below 2\u00b0C <\/strong>compared with pre-industrial levels.<\/p>\n

Using the SBTi method, the aim is to determine a GHG emissions trajectory <\/strong>for organisations over several time horizons. This gives the level of reduction to be achieved by emissions scope (1, 2 and 3) or according to the 6 categories of the ISO 14 064 standard, in terms of both absolute emissions (kgCO\u2082e) and carbon intensity (kgCO\u2082e\/m2, kgCO\u2082e\/FTE).<\/p>\n \n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n\n<\/section>\n\n\n\n
